Weronika Amelia Kijewska is a polish composer, cellist, singer and bassist known as WERA, currently living in Athens.
She concluded her high school musical studies specializing as a cellist.
Subsequently achieved a master degree in the history of art, and a bachelor degree in cultural studies at the John Paul II Catholic University in Lublin. Additionally, she attended a 2.5-year photography course at the School of Art and Design in Lublin.
Throughout the years she collaborated with many different artists and through these collaborations she got exposure to multiple styles that shaped her unique and eclectic artistic persona.
Her style comprises a highly experimental gameplay with the cello, exploring its entire spectrum and infinite nuances.
Her creation of collages of sounds, skillful looping performances and sampling combined with her voice give birth to an oniric, spacey and deep style.
Wera describes her solo project as an avant cello that features dreamy melodies, hinting to alternative, indie rock and ritualistic sounds under the influences of classical and cinematic music.
